The List

This week’s list is half sunshine summer buys (because I have to keep hoping the warm weather will return any day now…) and half things that are more suited to these weird rainy days we keep having. Here’s a list of things I’ve been looking at, thinking about, and sometimes even adding to basket.

From left to right;

  • This is the chic-est bucket hat I’ve come across. (Never thought those words would share a sentence tbh).  Linen bucket hat, £55, Arket

  • This dress is giving me serious checkout anxiety. You know that thing when you add to basket and then change your mind because you really should not be spending that much money on a dress right now. Then go back and visit said item in it’s basket, and it’s all lonely and just crying out for you to give it a good home? That. Cotton dress, was £335 now £167 RHODE at Matches

  • I’ve been deliberating on this jumpsuit for a month or so.  My heart says go for this beige colour, my brain says go for the black because it’s more practical (and I’m messy). Who will win Cotton Jumpsuit, £80 Everlane

  • Full disclosure: I bought this jumper back in February. I wore it non-stop for the first few weeks of lockdown, then accidentally shrunk it to a postage stamp size in the washing machine…. Anyway, now the weather has turned I’ve realised it’s the perfect lightweight but cosy knit to throw on with almost everything and I really miss it. So imagine my joy when I went to buy it again to discover it was in the sale! Which means I had to buy it in two colours of course… Wool blend jumper was £24.99 now £16 H&M

  • I’ve been searching for some longer length denim shorts for a while and these Levi’s fit the bill perfectly. And we all know how I feel about Levi’s right? If not, read this. Levi’s 501 Mid-Thigh Denim Shorts, £50 at Anthropologie

  • These delicate leather tie sandals are perfect for when you want your shoes to kind of disappear and not steal your outfit’s thunder. It also means they go with pretty much everything. And who doesn’t need a shoe like that in their arsenal? Tie sandals, £29.99, Zara

  • I came across this a year or so ago when I was looking for lighting to put behind a sofa, but it needed to be something didn’t require an electrician. I love it so much I’m about to buy another one for a different room, as I still haven’t come across anything I like better in all that time.  Wall light, £168, Spark and Bell

  •  I’ve always loved a denim jacket, and this longer length minimal style is next on my hitlist. It’s also very reasonably priced. Shocker! Denim jacket £69, Topshop Boutique

  • For when you just want an alternative to your jeans, these cargo pant inspired trousers are a good bet. Green cargo trousers, £29.99, Zara

  •  A friend recently told me about this beautiful Aussie brand, and I have to be honest, I’m a bit annoyed because now I have a whole new place to spend money on things that I didn’t even know existed. But I love the brands concept, and I love this white shirt. So I suppose I’ll have to forgive her… Cotton linen blend shirt, $199 AUD (approx. £110), POSSE

  • This handmade dip glaze mug would definitely make early morning coffee a bit more appealing. But even better than it’s shelf appeal, is that everything by Aerende is made by adults in the UK facing social challenges. Everything on the site is beautiful,  and knowing who has made it and how it has perhaps helped them in some way makes it one of the most worthwhile (and authentic)  brands (and shopping experiences) I’ve come across. Dip glaze mug, £24, Aerende.com

  • This cotton dress is a Dodo Bar Or classic. If you’ve wanted one for a while but not been a fan of the price tag you’re in luck, there’s a limited number on The Outnet. Go, go, go! Cotton Dress, WAS £265, NOW £129, Dodo Bar Or at The Outlet
